Audriana Grant is one of my very, very good friends, as well as the upcoming female face for Love over Lust. Not only did she want to be the female model representative, but she wanted to share something with you all.
We all have a story. We all have a past. & we all have a future that can't be defined by either of those two. Our future is our choice, period. As long as we embrace our story & our past, we can create any future we want by the grace of God.
Audriana's testimony & words of wisdom:
"When you love yourself and know what you want out of life, you won't stand for minuscule things.
Ever had that feeling? That deep, gut feeling that you were destined for something great? Something bigger than your dreams, to be in a place more beautiful than you ever imagined? You work hard for what you want, and to have everything you need.. You strive. You reach. You achieve your goal, but it still doesn't feel like it's enough.
You search for your purpose. You search it by going to all the wrong places and dealing with all the wrong people - the people that only pull you down.
God has a bigger purpose for you. It's bigger than wanting that great paying job, all the money in the world.. all the minuscule things.
If money wasn't an issue what would you be doing? How would you be of service to others?
Search it.. Find it.. and walk in your purpose."
When Audrey emailed this to me, those words, they hit home. I can relate on so many levels, as I think many of you can, too. We work jobs, we go to school, we do what we're told to do - but do you ever stop to think about why you're here? Do you ever stop to think if what you're doing, right now, is what you're meant for? Sure, everyone's got their own purpose, but the thing is, most people don't even find their purpose, because they never go looking for it to begin with.
Her next words are on a more personal level, & I think you'll appreciate them just as much:
"Forgive yourself, and forgive others.
I think one of my major personal issues I had was learning how to forgive. I was never the type of woman to get into altercations with people, fight, or anything like that. I'll always try to let things all end smoothly. Then other times I'll do the 'I forgive you,' but will hold a grudge for as long as possible.
Overtime, the only person that stayed hurt was me. When I realized what holding grudges was doing to me, I made time to myself, corrected my ways, and read more of my bible.
Unfortunately, everyone that you'll be nice and loyal to, won't be the same to you and you have to remove yourself from that person or situation. I looked at what I learned and move on. Even when sometimes the lesson was that I was careless.
And when people do me wrong, I conclude that they had their time in my life and it's time to move forward. Even when it hurts and you ask yourself, 'why would they do that to me?' Nothing is your fault. Just let it go. Trust me, you'll feel TONS better. *lol*
As soon as I let go of the people that held me back, I started attracting people that were positive and were going to do great things in their life. Ever heard of 'you are who you hand around,' or 'you are what you attract?' That's the kind of person I am.
So forgive, not only for the situation or other person, but also, for yourself. Forgiveness is the starting point to greatness."
Forgiveness is key. It takes the ability to forgive to truly love on all levels. & that's what we're here for - to love. We're not here to lust, to be greedy, to be selfish, to judge - we're here to love. No ifs, ands, or buts. Until you can forgive, you cannot love, and you will surely fall into the lustful, worldly desires.
I think you can all see why I've chosen Audriana to represent for Love over Lust. It's not because she's perfect, or doesn't sin, or hasn't made any mistakes - it's because of her imperfections, her sins, and her past mistakes, that make her the perfect candidate for Love over Lust. She represents change, hope, and inspiration. She represents a silver lining.
We aren't here to display perfection - we're specifically here to display our imperfections. Because without them, you cannot exist.
Have you accepted your flaws? Have you found your purpose? If not, what are you waiting for? You have a silver lining within you - go create it.
